The US quart and US cup are both units of liquid volume in the US customary system. Their relationship is fixed by exact definition: 1 US quart = 4 US cups, with no approximation involved. A quart is also 2 pints, 32 fluid ounces, or 946.352946 millilitres (the millilitre value is exact because 1 US gallon = 3.785411784 L by legal definition, and 1 quart = 1/4 gallon).
