Price per round = total price ÷ number of rounds. A $24.99 box of 50 rounds costs $0.50 per round; a $34.99 box of 100 rounds costs $0.35 per round — the larger box saves $0.15 per shot. Always include shipping and fees for an honest comparison.

Ammunition is sold in boxes of 20, 50, 100, 500, 1,000 and other counts. Because box sizes vary, comparing sticker prices directly is misleading — a $49.99 box of 100 rounds is cheaper per shot than a $24.99 box of 50 rounds even though it costs twice as much up front. Dividing the total price by the round count gives the cost per round, the correct unit for comparison.
The calculator also shows cost per 100 rounds, per 500 rounds, and per 1,000 rounds — the last being the standard bulk-buy benchmark used in the shooting community.
