A millimetre of mercury (mmHg) is a pressure unit that originally referred to the pressure exerted by a 1 mm column of mercury under standard conditions (0 °C, standard gravity). It is still the universal unit for blood pressure measurement (a "normal" blood pressure of 120/80 is quoted in mmHg) and for many medical and meteorological applications.
