Because the factors multiply, small fractions compound rapidly. A city of 8 million filtered to 50% × 20% × 10% × 50% × 50% × 10% yields roughly 1,000 potential matches — a number that sounds promising in a large city but falls to near zero in a small town or with stricter filters. Doubling any single criterion can double the total result.
