Quick answer

How does this calculator work?

Days old = the number of whole calendar days between your birth date and today. A 30-year-old is roughly 10 950 days old; a 40-year-old about 14 610 days. Enter your birth year, month and day to get the exact count, along with your age in weeks, hours and minutes.

Formula
Days old = (Today − Birth date) in whole calendar days
How this is calculated

The calculator subtracts your birth date from today's date using calendar arithmetic that handles month lengths and leap years correctly. The result is measured in whole days — partial days are not counted because the time of birth is not known.

Weeks are derived by dividing the day count by 7 (integer division), hours by multiplying days by 24, and minutes by multiplying hours by 60. These figures assume exactly 24-hour days, ignoring daylight-saving transitions, which introduce a negligible error over the span of a lifetime.

The timeline bar shows the elapsed time on a relative scale. Because the calculator uses today's server date, results are accurate to the current calendar day in your locale.

Frequently asked questions

The count is accurate to the calendar day. It does not account for the exact time of birth, so on your birthday the count shows 0 (before midnight) or 1 (the following day). The figure is correct to within ±1 day.

Yes. The calculator uses the actual calendar date difference, so February 29 leap days are fully counted every time they fall within your lifespan.

A 30-year-old has lived through roughly 10 950 days, which is about 262 800 hours or nearly 15.8 million minutes. Human lifetimes accumulate a surprisingly large number of smaller time units — these figures are mathematically exact given the day count.
