Quick answer

How does this calculator work?

Add daily hours (Mon–Sun) and set your standard week. Total = sum of all days; Overtime = max(0, Total − Standard). The bar chart shows each day's share of the week. Useful for timesheet and payroll reporting without needing spreadsheet software.

Formula
Total = Mon + Tue + Wed + Thu + Fri + Sat + Sun • Overtime = max(0, Total − Standard)
How this is calculated

This calculator sums the hours entered for each day of the week. The standard week field (default 40 h) is used purely to compute overtime — the excess above your contractual or legal threshold. If your week falls short it shows the undertime instead.

The daily average divides the weekly total by seven (all days including rest days). If you want a five-day average, look at the Weekday total row and divide by five. The visualisation colours each active day proportionally so you can spot heavy or light days at a glance.

Note: this tool counts decimal hours (e.g. 7.5 h = 7 h 30 min). If you track time in hours and minutes, use the Hours Calculator to convert each shift first, then enter the decimal result here.

Frequently asked questions

Enter the hours worked each day of the week (Mon–Sun) and the calculator adds them automatically. Partial hours are fine — enter 7.5 for 7 h 30 min, for example.

Overtime is any hours above the Standard week threshold you set. The default is 40 h, matching a typical full-time contract, but you can change it to match your actual agreement (e.g. 37.5 h in some countries).

Yes — just enter whatever hours you actually worked each day. Leave a day at 0 if you did not work it. The calculator handles any combination from 0 to 168 h/week.
